Let God’s Word Take Root
Poetry For Jesus
DownBurst Media
In Mark 4, Jesus spoke by the lake,
A parable to teach, for our hearts' sake.
A farmer sowed his seed, some on rocky ground,
Some among thorns, some on the path, all around.
But the seed that fell on good soil, oh so rare,
Produced a bountiful crop, beyond compare.
Our hearts, like the soil, must be tended with care,
To receive God's word, and His love to bear.
Let us be like the good soil, open and free,
To let God's word take root, and grow abundantly.
So listen, dear friends, with ears to hear,
Cultivate your hearts, for God is near.
For the seed of His word, when planted deep,
Will flourish and bloom, a harvest to reap.
So let us be like the good soil, fertile and true,
Receiving God's word, and His love anew.
