I caught a glimpse out my window 
Spotted an Inca Dove sitting tall 
Gently preening her feathers 
Against the cloudy sky 

Serene gray bird so peaceful 
As storm loomed in the distance 
Couldn't resist her elegance 
Beauty at that instant 

Modest yet enchanting sight 
Reminder of nature's splendor 
Even amidst approaching storm 
Inca Dove, a true wonder
